Wherever possible, Glow Lab uses only use cold-pressed, virgin or unrefined base oil blends, so all the naturally-occurring properties of these oils are captured in our formulations. And when it comes to our gorgeous fragrances, we use only natural essential oils to create them, so you can be sure nothing unnatural has made it into our blends.

Who doesn’t love an apricot? The apricot is a member of the rose family and its lightweight oil contains high amounts of vitamins and essential fatty acids like Omega 9 which soften skin. Apricot Kernel Oil absorbs deeply into skin, providing long-lasting hydration. Argan Oil is extracted from the kernels of the Moroccan Argan Tree and is ubiquitous in skin and haircare. It absorbs easily and, being on the lower end of comedogenic risk scale – meaning it’s less likely to clog pores – it makes a great natural moisturiser. Avocado Oil is extracted from the flesh of ripe avocados and features an impressive line-up of vitamins, including Vitamins A, B1, B2, C, D, E and K, to nourish your skin. Chamomile is an ancient natural remedy, being used by the Egyptians and Romans for headaches and colds. They were onto something, as this clever ingredient is a powerhouse when it comes to looking after yourself. It’s part of the Asteraceae sunflower and daisy family, but the two main types used in skin and healthcare are Roman and German Chamomile. Its two primary components are apigenin and alpha-bisabolol which give Chamomile its powerful anti-inflammatory and rejuvenating properties, speeding up the healing process. It’s reputed to contain the world’s highest level of Vitamin C – it’s estimated that a single Kakadu Plum contains 55 times more Vitamin C than an orange. So, it’s an incredibly rich source of the skincare powerhouse that is Vitamin C, helping to firm skin, fade dark spots and scars and promote a healthy, glowing skin. The Marula tree is indigenous to South Africa and Madagascar, producing an exotic fruit which is high in Vitamin C. The oil is harvested from the fruit’s seeds and has been used for centuries to protect skin and hair from the harsh elements. Marula Oil is rich in antioxidants and Vitamins C and E, increasing cellular repair to regenerate, repair and rehydrate skin, while protecting skin against further ageing. Native to America, the main component of Sunflower Seed Oil is linoleic acid (Omega 6) as well as Vitamins A, D, and E. The oil extracted from this small but mighty nut is full of skin-loving elements, including zinc, Vitamin E and A and essential fatty acids. The essential fatty acids in Sweet Almond Oil retain moisture levels in skin and help to heal irritated skin. We’re encouraged to eat tomatoes because they contain antioxidants like lycopene which gives us protection against some cancers.
